The eReuse team are moving into the state-of-the-art e-waste lab at UNSW’s Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT@UNSW), led by Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla, an Australian icon in the innovation and science fields and an exemplary, internationally renown scientist and engineer. This partnership has allowed us access to their e-waste laboratory, as well as extra storage space for the donations.
In the future, we plan to hold a refurbishment session here every Thursday during the semester, focusing on how to repair computers. This will be a great opportunity for volunteers to have hands-on experience with cutting edge facilities, and to get exposed to the wonderful research they do here at SMaRT Centre.
The team at eReuse are grateful for this opportunity. We are excited to start working together to research sustainable solutions to e-waste management.
